(The dungeons are actually designed to be bring someone with you, monster or character. You can take your favorite villager and bring them to battle with you, which is always fun to have your girlfriend/wife battle along side you. Eventually you’ll become powerful enough to beat anything, just by farming. If you’re not really into RPG’s, you can focus on farming instead, which will slowly level the rest of your skills as well (there’s a chance to get random skill ups when you harvest something). So if you’re into RPG’s, you can just ignore the farm and focus on combat and crafting armour and weapons. Put simply, Rune Factory isn’t about farming, but making good use of your farm can effectively trivialise the rest of the game.
It takes the best of the Harvest Moon games (farming, marriage, befriending villagers etc) but makes it much more streamlined.
